We Love Bolton!
Bolton is a town in Greater Manchester. Bolton is known as a former mill town and is well known for textiles production since the 14th century at the milling and textiles peak Bolton had 216 cotton mills and 26 bleaching and dyeing works making it one of the most productive cotton spinning centres in the world. However this cotton, textiles and textiles production has declined since the 1940s and in now virtually non existent in the town.
Bolton is situated close to the city of Manchester and borders the Lancashire towns of Blackbun, Wigan and Chorley. Bolton is historically a part of Lancashire.
Bolton is also the home of former Premier League football club Bolton Wanderers who play home games at the Macron Stadium formerly known as the Reebok Stadium and it is also the home of WBA World light-welterweight champion Amir Khan was born in the town. Bolton is also home to well known comedians Peter Kay and Paddy McGuiness.
